A pimp is an agent for prostitutes who collects a portion of their earnings. A pimp's job is to advertise their prostitute's services to the proper potential clientele without alerting law enforcement as to their presence. The pimp–prostitute relationship can be abusive and possessive, with the pimp using techniques such as psychological intimidation, manipulation, physical force, and sexual assault to control his/her prostitutes, and thus are generally viewed negatively by society. Although pimps are generally thought to be 'bad', they make a great costume to dress up in for 1920s gangster parties, fancy dress parties, funny parties, pimps and ho's party, and more! The stereotypical view of pimps attires them in velvet pimp suits with certain forms of animal prints, matching broad rim hats, a bedazzled cane and lots of bling!
